Hi I am Jason, Director and Consultant at Solid Consulting. I am an Innovation Leader, Customer-Centric Designer, Researcher, Maker, Dreamer, Casual Startup Investor, and Certified® Rapid Learning Cycles Affiliate.
After completing a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, I have spent the last 13 years of my career working around the world in a range of different design, project management, and manufacturing-related industries in senior positions. Including Head of Design roles at two of the fastest-growing companies in the UK.
My obsession with identifying opportunities to innovate, learn, accelerate, and help businesses grow has led me to become an Innovation Consultant. Previous to starting my own business I spent four years as Head of Design and Innovation in a manufacturing environment. I was in charge of the product development team - responsible for gaining customer insights and developing technologies to meet customers' changing needs.
As an Innovation Coach for your business, what sets me apart, is my ability to think differently and strategically about your ambitions. I have a strong global network that I have developed from my industry and start-up experiences.
Three key areas I am passionate about are; uncovering customer insights and helping you add value to your products and services. Identifying opportunities to enhance your R&D programs and free up more time. As well as implementing Project Management tools like Rapid Learning Cycles and Critical Chain that will help you scale.
By working with me you will; develop products your customers love, speed up your R&D program giving more time for true innovation, and grow your business.
My wife and I live in sunny Mount Maunganui in New Zealand with our two sons. I have a love for all things design, emerging technologies, music, film, culture, and cooking. I am into getting outdoors, exploring life underwater, growing my own food and living off the land. Living outside of my comfort zone and learning new things means I am absolutely addicted to travelling. I've been to almost 60 countries, so I am always up for sharing stories with people.
